Description

This work reimagines the sublime landscape of Mount Geumgang, first immortalized by Gyeomjae Jeong Seon, the master of true-view landscape painting in late Joseon Korea. Through digital media, the artist translates Jeong Seon’s vision into a contemporary language of light and motion — a dialogue between heritage and innovation. The panoramic view from Danbalryeong captures the grandeur of Geumgang’s inner peaks as seen from the southern side. By digitally bridging mountains that cannot meet in the real world, the work becomes a poetic metaphor for connection and peace between South and North Korea. Upon a single mountain, symbolic architectural forms from both regions stand in harmony with elements of traditional Korean culture, affirming the shared identity of one peninsula. As the scene transforms with the passage of seasons, life and time flow anew — evoking the renewal of tradition and the enduring hope for a harmonious future.
